B10: Wren Sketches

 World building for me a bit I guess…

 Left: Meet Lou Wren, an intersexed Revonnahgander like Rook. He was from an outlying sort of remote settlement where they were much stricter on cultural taboos, including the idea that intersexed individuals were sexual deviants. So when a slaver convoy stopped by, the village elders were more than happy to get rid of him. Then enter a younger Rick-Dan Wat-Senn; he busted the slavers, and had never seen a Revonnahgander before and sorta had a love at first sight thing; so he personally took him back home, getting to know more about him and Revonnah on the ride over. Of course, his village didn’t want him, even threatened to kill him, so Wat-Senn helped set Lou Wren up in Cape Town (what I’m calling Rook’s hometown for now) where an official space port was in the works of being built. The locals of Cape Town weren’t as strict as the outlanders were, but they weren’t exactly that happy to have Wren in their midst either. But he proved to be useful and he was the main go between for the locals and the Plumbers for several years. Eventually, Wat-Senn requested to be permanently stationed on Revonnah so he and Wren could formally settle down together. Wren being the only other openly intersexed member of the town, a young Rook Blonko found himself going to his place often (his father was ashamed of the fact, and it was not known by anyone aside from Rook and his family); Wren helped answer his questions, and also since he was always around Wat-Senn too, Rook got to hear all about the exciting life of the Plumbers and what not, thus leading him to wanting to go to the Academy. Wren ended up dying just after Rook went to the Academy; the first harvest he missed, Wren was taken out in a Muroid attack. He was properly mourned by the locals though, because after so many years of living with them and helping them, the fact that he was intersexed, and apparently had an offworlder mate (though never “officially” recognized as such) he still went down protecting eth community.

 Right: Meet Rook Elen Wren Wheels, Rook and Pierce’s third child. Yes he is named after Lou Wren, and yes it’s partly due to the fact that he is intersexed like his mother. Rook and Pierce seem to have a habit of getting pregnant every 5 years; first they had Alix, then Rook had a miscarriage (due to fighting) and they ended up adopting Dodger, and then they have Wren. Wren suffers the same defect that Alix does, that his tail is connected to his spine with bone vertebra instead of cartilage that deteriorates over the years. He chose “Elen” as his “middle name” after his aunt Helen. Aside from that, I don’t know much about him yet since he’s the baby of the whole next gen group at the moment.

 I like world building. I like Revonnah and Revonnahganders. I like RookPierce. I am weird.
