Description
Imagine my surpsrise this morning when I woke up to find this!! MH FB showing off their version of "Operetta" FINALLY! It's a spazz tastic day!! 
Ok so first off I guess I should talk about their image right? I must note how interesting it is that they took one of my favorite canon deas, gave her purple skin (remember how I was upset taht Abbey wasn't purple?) AND my favorite hair color (that looks very much like DH's Sugarberry which is a neon pink that people confuse as red). It's like they're trying to make me drop my OC on purpose! She's totally country lookinh, but it so works on her! I adore the dice earrings, and the guitar bag. Funnily enough she has a beautymark as well if you'll notice, and wears the correct shade of purple...But spiders? Why spider themed? Not that it doesn't work on her, but if she's the Phantom, why spiders? Now if she was named "Octoretta" could so see it working since that's spider AND is similar to "octive" wich oh look, is musical! So thus, I dub thee "Octoretta" for my purposes.
To sum it up though, I love her and I do want her.
Now moving onto part 2: my Operetta. i had intended this weekend to point out how many other artists seem to be making their own Operetta versions lately, and how eerrily quite a few of them were resembling mine (before this week I'd sen half a dozen Operetta versions and only 1 resembled mine; now I've seen at least half a dozen more and at least 4 if not 5 of those had eerrily similar qualities to mine), but I feel that is moote now since with a Canon!Design released the most obvious thing to do would be to drop your version right? Well, I'm here to tell you I WILL NOT be doing that in the least bit, shape, or form. I also will not be renaming/revamping her (though in fairness I did/do have a contingency plan if I ever *need* to). My Operetta is staying Operetta for my purposes; this Operetta is going to be named something else, and once her offical bio/history is released, possibly adapted to suit MY purposes. So nothing is going to change for my fandom. Rika is still Operetta,a nd this canon!Operetta is someone else. If you don't like that, I'm sorry, but this is for me not you. Though I totally admit that this will make my image credits way confusing now
So to sum up again on this "zomr MH Operetta spazz fest!!"
-I like think pink haired, purple lady and I want her
-I am not changing or getting rid of my OC
-this new girl gets to be something else, my Operetta is staying Operetta

Well in a certain novel version of the Phantom's story called "Phantom" by Susan Kay there were a lot of references to spiders. The Phantom compared himself to a spider in that they are ugly and hated by all but they still have a right to find a mate. This came up again later in the book in a very emotional scene with him and Christine. What happened was Christine was terrified of spiders and said that she would die if one ever touched her, this hurt the Phantom quite a bit and this scene made me cry.
Perhaps whoever designed Operetta at Mattel has read the book and took inspiration from that for the whole spider motif. I must say I like the use of purple make up on your version though.
