Well after amending the de Nile family I thought I would take a crack at drawing the Gorgons again cause the first time I did it, it was a total fail Plus there weren’t as many of them then either

So meet the Gorgons, all three branches of them:

-Medusa: this is Deuce’s mother and the youngest of the three. Deuce is her only child. She’s based off of an Emerald Tree Boa snake for her colors and patterning.

-Deuce Gorgon: we all know this guy. Love to play casketball and cook. I like to think he’s a garden snake…and that those diamonds will spread as he gets older.

-Seth Gorgon: Stheno’s youngest and last child. He’s about 14, so he’s younger than Deuce. He has several older siblings who live on their own. He attends MMS, and is still finding himself. But he does enjoy skateboarding and video games, and seems to have a crush on his best friend’s sister He’s based upon a rattle snake, and isn’t old enough yet to get his “spots”

-Stheno: she is the eldest of the Gorgon sisters and she has several older children who live on their own all over the place; Seth is her youngest and last child. She’s based off of a Coral Snake I think…that or a King Snake…depends which is poisonous…and her “spots” are actually bands, but they are still considered “spots”

-Momba: she is one of Euryale’s older children, and Seri’s older sister; she’s mid 20s, so she’s also older than Deuce and Seth. Her father is an African serpent of some sort, (possibly a naga…) so she has been living and studying there for several years. She’s based upon a Black Momba, and has all of her “spots”; she also has a stone venom instead of a stone sight

-Serafina Gorgon: she is one of Euryale’s younger children, and she’s just shy of being a year younger than Seth. She’s a girly tomboy who likes roller blading. She’s based upon an albino Boa Constrictor, and she’s not old enough to have gotten her “spots” yet. Also not sure if Momba’s father is also Seri’s or not

-Euryale: she is the middle of the Gorgon sisters and (at least I like to think) she has many children, both older and live on their own, and younger who still live with her. She may or may not have had several different mates over the years. Like her sisters she does have the stone sight, but since she still has younger children she usually wears contacts. She is based upon a regular Boa Constrictor

Phew! That was a lot to say So yeah; design wise for t he Gorgon sisters I tried to keep them looking like Greek statues with the togas, but they’re all different; I also gave them all different snake hair styles and tried to make their eye protectants similar to their kids’.

I really do like the idea that as the Gorgons age they get spotted to be more snakey, but that could just be me. Do not feel obligated to adopt that idea, though you must wonder why would Medusa let Deuce get a tattoo and not a car? That’s why I think it’s a natural marking…but anywhos…yes Euryale is normal colored; Momba’s coloring is definitely inherited from her father, Seri’s could be from that too, or could just be because she’s an albino. Stheno’s also a multi-colored snake since the Coarl/King Snake are banded and I wanted the solid snake symmetry but I wanted all the colors, and yes Seth can be brown cause you can mix those colors together

Don’t ask about their dads; I haven’t really thought about it, aside from the fact that Momba’s is African and has venom. Snakes don’t really mate for life, so it is possible that they just made the babies and didn’t stick around interpret what you will.

So that’s the Gorgon Family according to me!
