MH: SS Rika -boxed- by KPenDragon MH: SS Rika -boxed- by KPenDragon
THIS IS A PHOTOMANIPULATION OF A CUSTOM DOLL. THIS IS NOT A REAL MATTEL DOLL

Been a long while since I did one of these; I was surprised I could still do it so quickly :lol: Figured with the special on the rise, I should do it, that and I had a SS Ghoulia box to play with. Fun fun fun!

Please note any comments of “where did you get that?” or “is this real?” or “can you make me a box like that” will be ignored. Idk how many times I have to say in the description and even on the image itself, that this is a photomanipulation. I photographed a custom doll in a standard box, then in Photoshop I changed the photo and added various things. The box does not exist, I am not affiliated with Mattel. Please learn to read the descriptions, the deviation category, and even the image itself. I’m sorry to rant about it, but it’s very tiresome when people ask, I answer and they reply “oh well I don’t read things” -.-

that is sorta an objective question; it really depends upon you. i've been a customizer for oh...7ish years now? i started off with MLP, done a few action figures, and now i do some MH, so i have a few years and knowledge of tips and tricks that makes it a lot easier for me. some artists will tell you that rerooting is hard; i don't find it hard at all. it differs from person to person, but in the end it's your comfortability with your own skill that would  define it as "hard" or not.

take Rika here for an example; she's a very simple custom. she's a Draculaura who just has a liv wig, a whipped off heart, and a beauty marked painted on with her fangs painted over. that's it, that's super simple. but in the same vein, i have customs with full reroots in a rainbow of colors, fully repainted bodies, sculpted parts, the works. those are less simple.

it all just depends what you want to do.

Ah ok
I was thinking of starting off simply by using wigs instead of rerooting and then escalating from there
Thanks for the information :)

yup, it's a SS Ula "swimsuit" (minus the mesh heart) and a base Cleo top; it was the closest I could get to her design ^^;

Filters. i know people say they're cheating, but to make a CG item look photographed, Filters really help. ad just play around with it; half of it is expirimentation and all of it is faking it after all XD
